Circuit Bent Projects
Circuit Bent Compute-A-Tune
This was one of my second circuit bending projects. It was strictly an analog organ toy with only a few pre-programmed melody options. I add variable pitch control, distortion, waveform control, auto drone, audio output, octave switch and a bunch toggles that control random glitches. There was almost no space inside the case for the additional wires and certainly not enough room for me to mount the toggle switches and pots directly to it. So I mounted two project boxes on the sides to house my bend controls. I spray painted them with textured silver, sprinkled them with extremely fine glitter while they were drying and then sprayed them again with a clear acrylic the next day.
If you attempt to bend a Compute-A-Tune then I recommend using extremely light gauge and flexible wiring, limit the number of bends you go for, solder your bend connections as flat as possible and try not to have the wires overlap each other. Simply putting the case back together proved the most difficult part of this project. In fact no matter how many times I tried, several of my bends were altered by the pressure from the outside case.
